Hope & Healing: Greene County Welcomes the Gaiser Center | Episode #17

Thomas Brophy (Medical Director of the Gaiser Center) to share some big news for our community...the Gaiser Center is opening a new treatment facility in Carmichaels, PA in 2026!

Joe and Dr. Brophy explain how the Gaiser Center treats drug and alcohol addiction through custom-tailored, evidence-based care, with programs offering up to 90-day stays and a strong focus on preventing relapse and reintegrating individuals back into the community. They also share their personal motivations for working in addiction treatment, discuss how social stigmas are slowly breaking down, and why punishment-based approaches simply don’t work.

From the realities of alcohol abuse post-COVID to thoughtful discussions on cannabis, accountability, and the human experience of addiction, this episode offers hope, education, and a clear message: recovery is possible, and help is coming to Greene County.
